Bio
Misc, a mutant jazz instrumental trio based in Montreal, underpins its cinematic melodies with solid grooves. While its aesthetic revolves around the piano-bass-drums formula, the use of various effects, synthesizers, atypical percussion and sampling form a tonal mosaic that transcends the traditional jazz idiom. Founded in 2010 and winner of numerous awards since then, Misc has taken its compositions to several continents, and also takes pleasure in making its audience travel, inviting them to move freely around the band during the performance. Shifting from meditative introspection to psychedelic-prog soaring within the same piece, Misc's music draws on every conceivable influence without lacking in coherence. This is due to the fact that it has been carefully thought out and composed collaboratively by Jérôme Beaulieu, William Côté and Jérémi Roy, all renowned musicians on the Quebec music scene (Daniel Bélanger, Les Louanges, Esmérine, Bellflower, etc.). Their new album Beat Bouquet  will be released on May 28.
