Bio
Laurence-Anne is a singer-songwriter whose debut album, Première apparition, made the long list for the Polaris Prize. After winning over student radio stations and critics alike, she toured Quebec's major festivals and tested the waters in France, before returning to record Accident, a rockier EP with a hint of punk, indie pop and tropical tones. A fertile and astonishing exploration of sound led to Musivision, an album of dreampop, artrock, cosmic funk and synthwave. Last September, 2023, Laurence-Anne revealed Oniromancie, a third album denser, darker and more nocturnal than her previous ones, on which she pushes further the codes already established on Musivision. Undoubtedly her most conceptual work to date, Oniromancie is also the most directly in line with dream pop, recalling the sounds of artists such as Beach House, Weyes Blood and Cocteau Twins. This new album highlights the different facets of the night, with the singer and musician giving free rein to her subconscious.
