Lesser Evil

Even though the duo grew up in the same neighborhood, Lesser Evil was born out of a chance meeting in a studio, much later on. A first EP followed, establishing the pair’s sound. Now back with their first album, Subterranean, where broad sonic explorations are cut concisely into ten tracks. A production in which the best imperfections stick and broken sounds are made elegant. Where they pitch shift and crush a voice into multiple sides of one self. The complicity of Ariane and Christophe is audible, and underneath it, unmistakable shades of musical influence from their formative days, their progressive and very personal take on those trip hop sounds of alienation and escapism, rendering suave the weight of the world above.
